Araxá Studios is a full service photography studio serving the Pacific Northwest and worldwide that offers complete digital photography and post-production services for weddings and business and social events.
Araxá Studios came into existence after San Francisco fine art wedding photographer Octavia Hunter visited Belo Horizonte, Brazil to work with newspaper-trained photojournalist Krishna Muirhead in late 2007. Both artists found a shared love of culture, travel and visual imagery and have combined their award winning experiences to create a Portland, Oregon based working partnership that focuses on outstanding narrative photography.
Krishna and Octavia have over 11 years experience photographing in San Francisco, Brazil and the Pacific Northwest and are continually honored to be a part of unique and extraordinary celebrations. We are the primary photographers at Araxá Studios and at least one of us is always present during your event. Our fusion of narrative photojournalism and fine art photography means you will see intimate and spontaneous moments in addition to lovely, sweeping portraits.
We always provide a DVD-ROM of edited and color corrected, high resolution, print ready files so our clients have their own archive of images. Our award winning albums are beautifully crafted with a personalized design layout that our studio has created and one of a kind attention is put into every page. Our goal is truly fantastic memories of this important moment in your life.

We don’t consider ourselves “wedding photographers”, rather, observers and documenters of rituals and rare moments. Photography is a passage into time; a moment revealed that later becomes part of ones history.
